Kim Seung-young’s aesthetic concern, and primary motif  leave traces. In The Memory, Kim makes the nameplates of those who he has met so far, and then puts them into transparent bricks, shaping 'a wall of memory' with them. As in his previous pieces, this 'wall of memory' is central of the venue and appears 'poetic' and 'structural'. As memories are often reconstructed into an 'illusion' or a 'déjà vu', disappearing with time. Kim explores this as well as his own identity and creative imagination, creating a mid-zone between consciousness and unconsciousness, memory and illusion.

The path connotes 'human life'. Water Stepping-Stones presents a point from which I communicate with another world. Through this work, I intend to view objects from a contemplative, meditative gaze, like things reflected onto water, rather than presenting them directly. This work showcases traces in reality, responding sensitively to their surroundings reflected onto the water. Through this work however, I try to note the stream of time by demonstrating a perceptive world hidden behind this work quite delicately.
